The World’s Biggest Celebs Before They Were Famous

Kate Moss

Kate Moss is an English model born in 1974 in Croydon, Surrey in England. Legend has it that her good looks were spotted in JFK Airport in New York City by Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Model Management.

Although Moss rose to fame during the end of the true “Supermodel” era, she still went on to have a fabulously successful career. In 2012, she earned the 2nd spot on the Forbes top earning models list – with earnings of $9.2 million in just one year.

In 2005, her hard-partying lifestyle caught up for her and she was dropped from several big fashion houses due to allegations of drug abuse. She’s remained on the fashion scene nonetheless, ending up with contracts from big names such as Burberry, Chanel and Calvin Klein.

Elvis Presley

The original “King of Rock” didn’t always have dashingly good looks, but he always had a swagger that would propel him to fame in his early 20’s and beyond.

Elvis Presley was born in 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi and moved to Memphis, Tennessee with his family at the age of 13. His music career began in 1954 and it wasn’t long before his career took off, producing “Heartbreak Hotel” which rose to #1 on the American charts in January, 1956.

Patrick Stewart

We’ll admit that Patrick Stewart was always a good-looking guy – as you can see in the picture below – but he wasn’t always famous.

Patrick Stewart was born on July 13th, 1940 in Yorkshire, England. Since he got his start in film in the 1970’s, he’s put together an impressive career that includes starring roles on stage, TV shows and in movies.

Stewart was given a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in 1996 and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II of England in 2010. And yes, that means you now have to call him “Sir”.

In her early days, Madonna looked more like a nun than the raunchy diva she would go onto become as she rose to fame, ultimately becoming one of pop’s legendary female icons.

Madonna Louise Ciccone, known simply as “Madonna” was born in 1958 in Bay City, Michigan. She moved to New York City in 1977 to chase a career in dance and released her first hit album, “Madonna”, in 1982. Since then, she’s gone on to become one of the most recognizable acts in dance and music.

Simon Cowell

If he wasn’t successful as a reality TV host and producer, Cowell certainly could have had a career in bodybuilding – at least that’s what we gathered from his “before” pic below.

Simon Cowell was born in 1959 in Lambeth, London, England. He rose to fame in the early 2000’s as the creator and producer of hit shows in both the UK and US – Pop Idol and American Idol, respectively. In both 2004 and 2010, Time Magazine named him to their top 100 list of Most Influential People in the World.
