#4: Whole Milk
Milk is generally considered to be good for you. It’s loaded with protein, calcium and rich in Vitamins A and D. However, whole milk is not what you should be reaching for when it comes to picking up your next gallon of milk.
While it’s often considered the richest and creamiest of milks, the additional flavor and texture of whole milk comes at a price. One 12 oz. glass of whole milk contains 8 grams of fat, 150 calories and 12 grams of sugar. Opt instead for 2% milk or skim milk; sure you’ll be sacrificing a bit of flavor, but you’ll still be getting loads of nutrients without the additional calories, fat and sugar.
